Extinguishers

Water

Water fire extinguishers combat class A fire risks that involve solids such as wood, paper, cardboard and textiles. Water fire extinguishers are not to be used on live electrical equipment. Ideal for use in offices.

Foam

Foam fire extinguishers combat class A (wood, paper, textiles) and class B fire risks (flammable liquids including petrols and oils). Ideal for use in office environments and the home. Not to be used on live electrical equipment.

Carbon Dioxide

Carbon dioxide (CO2) fire extinguishers combat class B fire risks. Class B fires are flammable liquids such as petrol, oil and solvents. Carbon dioxide extinguishers are used in offices, warehouses and workplaces.

Wet Chemical

Wet chemical fire extinguishers combat class F fires such as deep fat fryers as well as Class A and B fire risks. Class F fires are fires which involve cooking oil or fat. Not to be used on live electrical equipment.

Powder

Powder fire extinguishers combat class A, B and C fire risks and can be used on live electrical equipment. Powder extinguishers are recommended only for outdoor use, except for garages and some warehouses.
